Gisburn chef has launched a cooking series on YouTube that will see him journey across Lancashire and cook up some Italian feasts.
Maurizio Bocchi, who owns La Laconda with wife Cinzia, has launched Agrichef on Wheels on his YouTube channel.
Sourcing the best quality local produce has always been a priority of Maurizio’s and more than 80 per cent of his restaurant’s ingredients are locally sourced.
Traveling by motorbike, cooking outside with local producers, Chef Maurizio will create traditional Italian recipes using foraged ingredients.
The dishes are set to be made on location to demonstrate what Lancashire has to offer, while also respecting the traditions of Italian cuisine, culture and heritage.
Maurizio plans to work with producers whose ethos aligns with his own - those who produce ingredients using natural farming methods, free from chemicals and pesticides and have the highest standards of animal welfare.
A teaser trailer for the series has been released.
Maurizio said: “I am impassioned to share my knowledge and develop people’s understanding of the health benefits of a Mediterranean diet, its impact on healthier eating and introducing extra virgin olive oil as an (important) element of the daily diet.”
Maurizio and Cinzia opened their restaurant in 2003 and have since won several awards for their authentic Italian menus, which showcase locally sourced produce along with the very best Italy has to offer.
In 2022 Maurizio was named Marketing Lancashire’s latest Taste Lancashire ambassador.
Since 2010 they have held an Ospitalità Italiana award, a certification that highlights the best Italian restaurants around the world, and those who defend and protect Italian cuisine and preserve its history, culture, quality and authenticity.
They also won the Lancashire Tourism Awards Taste Lancashire award for two years consecutively, in 2015 and 2016, and most recently Maurizio and Cinzia were presented with a Taste Lancashire Outstanding contribution award at the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2021.
