The owner of a Feniscowles salon is delighted after her business won five awards at the British Hair and Beauty Awards.
Natalie Smith, owner of Serenity in Preston Old Road, said she feels “overwhelmed” she and the business won awards for best entrepreneur, top customer service and beyond.
Natalie, who has owned Serenity for 17 years after opening it aged 21, won a gold award for best entrepreneur of the year in the north west.
She said: “I’m just really overwhelmed. There will have been so many other salon entries from all over the north west there are some fantastic salons in much bigger cities.
“I’m very proud to have started my business at 21 and to have achieved so much over my 22 years in the industry and 17 years [in charge of] serenity.
“I am especially proud the gold entrepreneur award. I amjust a hardworking passionate woman who strives to produce exceptional customer service and treatments within my salon.
“My biggest achievement is still raising my daughter on my own for the past 10 years and she’s very proud of her mum.”
The salon also came home with a silver award for top rated north west salon, and bronze awards for customer service, best workplace environment and aesthetics clinic of the year.
Natalie plans to launch a training academy later this year.
She said: “Later this year we will be launching our training academy under the name of Aesthetics North West Training Academy.
“Myself and my business partner Gillian Hanson have worked together in this area and will be [teaching] aesthetics and skin courses.
“We are really looking forward to helping other girls get into our industry to a high standard.”
Last year the salon won seven awards, including beauty therapist of the year and entrepreneur of the year.
Natalie’s salon won bronze for best work place environment, top rated salon of the year, excellence in customer service, lifetime achievement award and hair and beauty salon of the year.
