A motorcycle clothing company in Darwen celebrated its fifth anniversary by hosting a party which saw more than 500 motorcyclists attend.

MC Hub in The Hub, Commercial Road celebrated its fifth birthday on Saturday, August 19, and raised £1,000 for charity.

Stewart Holden opened the business in August 2018, after Rocket Centre, the motorcycle dealership where he used to work, closed down a year earlier.

Since then, Stewart and manager Susan Brown say the business has been thriving and were excited to celebrate the last five years.

Stewart said: “We didn’t know what to expect on the day but the weather was very kind to us and it was ram packed with more than 500 bikes from all around Lancashire.

“The business has been going from strength to strength and it’s been a sociable space for motorcyclists who all came together because of their shared interest.

“We have customers from Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Cumbria, Bolton and all over so it was a great social event.”

There were more than 20 raffle prizes up for grabs which were donated to MC Hub by suppliers and customers.

The money will be shared equally between the shop’s two chosen charities – North West Air Ambulance Service and North West Blood Bikers.

Stewart added: “I want to thank everyone who came down to support our business and making it a great celebration.”
