Train services between Darwen and Bolton are currently experiencing delays due to trespassers on the line.
Trains are having to run at reduced speeds on all lines between Clitheroe and Manchester Victoria.
Services running through these stations could be canclled, delayed by up to 30 minutes, or revised, with disruption expected until around 1.30pm.
Services affected are:
- Rochdale - Clitheroe - disrupted
- Clitheroe - Rochdale - disrupted
- Blackburn - Rochdale - disrupted
- Rochdale - Blackburn - disrupted
A spokesperson for Northern said: "Services between Darwen and Bolton are currently being disrupted (in both directions) due to trespassers on the railway.
"Network Rail staff and British Transport Police are en route to the area, ETA 1.00pm."
Northern confirmed at 1.15pm the line has reopened, though services running through these stations may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes, or revised.
