A BAFTA-award winning children’s animated show will be brought to life on stage next week when its UK tour visits Darwen.
The tour celebrating 10 years since the debut of CBeebies show Sarah & Duck will stop at the Darwen Library Theatre on Tuesday, August 29, and Wednesday, August 30.
The show, titled Sarah & Duck’s Big Top Birthday, will be told through a blend of inventive puppetry, charming storytelling and toe-tapping music, featuring the familiar voices from the CBeebies series including Roger Allam as the narrator and Lesley Nicol as Scarf Lady.
This on-stage adventure will see Sarah & Duck joined by their favourite friends, including The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, Flamingo and Umbrella as they plan a circus-themed birthday party in their garden.
The show on August 29 will start at 1.30pm and the August 30 show will begin at 11.30am.
The animated show has been a big hit since its debut in 2013, winning a BAFTA for ‘Best Pre-School Animation’ in 2014 and regularly appearing in CBeebies’ top 10 programmes for viewers aged four to 15.
This new stage event is produced by MEI Theatrical, whose recent productions include Twirlywoos Live! And The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show.
