Tributes have been paid to a young father of two who has died after enduring 10 months of hell following a major injury.
Jason Lawrenson, from Broughton near Preston, died on Monday, July 31, after experiencing a number of difficult incidents which his sister Jade Lawrenson says caused him a lot of trauma.
Jason, who is survived by his 13-year-old daughter and his son, aged two, had his dog, Luna seized, and had to fight to get her back.
In October 2022, he fell off a 35-foot building at work and was in a coma with a broken back and brain injury.
His sister Jade said he “never fully recovered from this trauma” and he “was never the same person”.
After the fall, Jason, who was a lover of motorbikes, was able to return to his favourite hobby but then suffered a crash on his bike.
Jade said: “It was just one thing after another, life wouldn’t give him the break he truly deserved.”
After his sudden death on July 31, Jade set up a GoFundMe to raise money to give Jason a good send off, with any extra money being put into trust funds for his two children.
She wrote: “Never in this lifetime did I ever think I would have to do this. This is hardest time of my and our lives.
“Everyday was a fight he was in so much pain constantly. He fought long and hard to be able to be there for his children. Sadly he didn't have the strength anymore.
“We really need help to raise funds to give him the send off he deserves.
“He was one of a kind the love he had for his children and the passion for riding was truly touching. He was so kind hearted, genuine and so caring.”
As part of the fundraiser, Jade is asking for any bikers to get in touch as they want as many superbikes as possible to ride him alongside on his final journey to rest.
Jade added: “Our hearts are truly broken but to know we can give him the send off he deserves would mean the world to us.
“Will miss you forever Jason! Til we meet again, love you always, your sis Jade.”
So far, more than £8,300 has been raised for the family, smashing the £5,000 target that was set. You can donate to Jade’s GoFundMe page here.
