Blackburn Rovers’ star Tyrhys Dolan joined the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen in handing out honours a major six-a-side tournament in Blackburn.

The winners of the ‘Elite 6’ competition held at Witton Park's 3G itches on Sunday took home a £750 cash prize, whilst the runners up were presented with £250.

Rovers winger Dolan, 21, signed autographs and posed for selfies with footballers and fans at the event, which attracted 16 teams from across the county.

Winners on the day were the multi-talented AFC Preston who stormed through the group stages and hit five in the final despite going down to an early goal to Pingu FC.

Aamir Toorawa, who scored twice in the final, was named player of the tournament.
