A Wetherspoons pub in Preston was forced to temporarily close its doors on Wednesday (August 16) after a mouse was spotted.
The sighting was at The Twelve Tellers on Church Street.
A Wetherspoons spokesperson said the sighting was immediately reported to pest control adding that the sighting is not a reflection of the pub.
Appropriate pest control measures are being implemented.
A Wetherspoons spokesperson said: “We can confirm that The Twelve Tellers, Preston temporarily closed yesterday following sightings of a mouse.
“The sighting was immediately reported to our pest control consultants and appropriate pest control measures are being implemented.
“The sighting is in no way a reflection of the pub, which was awarded the maximum food hygiene rating of 5 (out of 5) by the local authority and reflects excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene in place.”
The pub has a five star food hygiene rating and was inspected in December last year.
The site was rated ‘good’ in all areas during the inspection.
