Two business in East Lancashire have been praised at the English Curry Awards 2023.
Abdullah's Restaurant in Rising Bridge and Aroma Asian Restaurant in Burnley both won awards at the annual ceremony.
Aroma Asian Restaurant won two awards including best customer experience in the North West.
Owner Abdul Majeed said: “It’s an absolute honour to have won the customer experience of the year award.
“To even be nominated is something to be proud of in itself, however to win and beat several other restaurants to such a prestigious award is something we are highly proud of.
“We always strive to give the best possible dining experience to all of our customers, and we take great passion in our work.
"We would like to thank all of our customers as without them winning such awards would not be possible.”
Abdul, who been in the industry for more than 44 years, was also given a lifetime achievement award.
He has worked at Aroma since 1987 when it was originally known as Shalimar. It opened as Aroma in 2007.
He said: “It is a huge honour and absolute privilege.
“It makes us feel proud that our hard work and efforts have been recognised by customers.
“I think what makes us stand out from other businesses is our vast experience within this industry and our ability to consistently provide all of our customers with food and overall experience of the highest quality, something which we take great pride in.
“A lot of our customers tend to be regulars as they love our food that much!”
Abdullah's Restaurant was named the North West’s curry restaurant of the year.
Managing director Mohammed Abdullah said: “I would like to thank all my customers for the love and support they have given to us over the years.
“We will continue to provide foods and service that conforms to their requirements and expectations and keep the momentum going.
“Some of our most popular dishes are set starters, South Indian Murgh Balti, Exotic Garlic Masala and Nans breads.”
