Lancashire has been named one of the best places to live for those aged over 50.

Saga Exceptional conducted research, judging 43 regions in England and Wales to find out where the best places to live for over 50s are.

The factors judged include highly rated activities, burglary rates, average house price, square miles per pub and average age.

Lancashire named among best places to live in England and Wales for over 50s

Lancashire received a suitability rating of 68.6% and was ranked the eighth best place to live in England and Wales for over 50s, according to the research by Saga Exceptional.

The research also looked at areas where you’re likely to live near your local pub and Lancashire came in 10th place with 0.87 square miles per pub.

Best places to live for over 50s in England and Wales revealed

The research found that some areas are better than others when it comes to being suited for those over the age of 50.

Here are the areas that came in the top 10:

  1. Devon & Cornwall
  2. Merseyside
  3. North Wales
  4. North Yorkshire
  5. West Yorkshire
  6. South Wales
  7. Avon and Somerset
  8. Lancashire
  9. Derbyshire
  10. Nottinghamshire
