Police have closed a road in Barton as they deal with a serious crash.
Garstang Road is closed just after Owd Nell's pub in Bilsborrow, going south. It is expected to remain closed for several hours.
A spokesperson for AA Traffic and Travel said there is a detour in operation and bus services are diverting.
Police have been approached for more details. We will update you when we have more information.
A police spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on Garstang Road, Barton, Preston.
“The road is closed just after Owd Nell's going south which will likely cause delays on the A6.
“Please avoid the area, as it will be closed for several hours. Thank you for your patience.”
A spokesperson for AA Traffic and Travel said: “Road blocked and queueing traffic due to serious crash on the A6, on Garstang Road, both ways between St Michael's Road and White Horse Lane.
“Affecting traffic between Preston and Garstang since around 1.15pm. Detour in operation. Stagecoach buses 40 and 41 are diverting.”
A spokesperson for Royal Preston Hospital said the crash may impact those travelling to the hospital.
A spokesperson said: "Please can all patients and colleagues travelling to Preston hospital ensure they leave plenty of time to arrive due to traffic due to traffic conditions following an incident on Garstang Road."
