Three barns in a moorland village's farmyards are set to become four homes.
Blackburn with Darwen Council planners have approved the two schemes in Tockholes.
They have granted planning permission for the conversion of a barn at Crosslands Farm into a house.
And they have approved a resubmitted application to turn two similar 17th century heritage listed buildings at Higher Hill Farm into three homes.
The project had been previously granted planning permission in December 2019 but ran out of time before being implemented.
A report by planning office Martin Kenny for Billy Rhodes conversion at Crossland Farm says: "The proposal relates to a detached stone barn located to the east/south east of Tockholes Road.
"The barn forms part of the farmstead of Crossland Farm, which consists of a range of modern and traditional farm buildings, including residential units.
"Planning permission is sought for the conversion of the existing barn to form a four bedroom dwelling.
"External alterations include the insertion of windows and the replacement of the existing tin roof with a natural stone slate roof with solar panels.
"The application barn is located centrally within a working farmyard with livestock buildings in close proximity.
"This position would remain and raises concerns regarding future occupants given the associated early operating times, noise and odours associated with an active farm.
"That position can be satisfactorily addressed through an occupancy condition that requires future residents to be employed within Crosslands Farm.
"The proposed alterations are considered to be modest.
"They are also considered to retain, or in some regards enhance, the agricultural form of the building."
A report by planning officer Christian Barton into the scheme to turn two barns into three houses at Higher Hill Farm in Higher Hill, proposes by Mr L Thomas says: "The application site is a pair of Grade II listed barns and a separate stables building.
"A Grade II listed farmhouse is positioned immediately to the south.
"This application initially involves changing the use of the barns to form three dwellings.
"Barn A would be converted to a single dwelling and Barn B would be converted to two dwellings.
"A number of external alterations are proposed including the formation of new openings and works to repair the fabric of the existing buildings "This application is a resubmission with no changes proposed.
"The proposed external alterations would not harm the character of the host buildings.
"The conversion scheme was assessed in 2019 and was demonstrated to be acceptable in relation to its impact on the character of both listed barns and the adjacent listed farmhouse.
"Nothing has changed in this respect."
