New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to seven of Blackburn with Darwen’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it's good news for them all.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have given all seven eateries new five out of five hygiene ratings.

One pub was awarded a new rating after inspection on August 2.

Bird inth' hand at 225 Duckworth Street, Darwen, was given a new five out of five with inspectors rating the pub very good for hygienic food handling and management of food safety and good for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

Six takeaways have also been handed new five out of five hygiene scores.

Brunch at 82 New Chapel Street, Blackburn, was awarded a new rating after inspection on August 9.

The inspection report states the eatery is good in all areas.

Crunchy Plus at 7 Railway Road, Darwen, was rated a five on August 9.

The inspection report states the takeaway is good in all areas.

TCK Deli Ltd at Stall 1 C2 Market Hall, Church Street, Blackburn, was rated a five after inspection on August 8.

The inspection report states the takeaway is good in all areas.

Mansha Sweet Centre at 168 Whalley Range, Blackburn, was rated a five on July 27.

The inspection report states the hygienic food handling is very good whilst the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety are good.

The Old Mill Hill Chippy at 33 New Chapel Street, Blackburn, was also rated a five on July 27.

Finally, Mega Munch at 42 Old Bank Lane, Blackburn, was rated a five after inspection on July 26.
