A crash between two vehicles closed a busy route between Accrington and Haslingden.
The incident happened at around 2.30pm and closed a section of Manchester Road, the A680, at the junction with Langford Street.
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Two fire engines from Hyndburn attended a road traffic collision on Manchester Road, Accrington.
"The incident involved two vehicles. Firefighters assessed two casualties before placing them in the care of paramedics. They were in attendance for twenty minutes."
A police spokesperson had earlier said: “We are currently at the scene of a road closure on Manchester Road, Baxenden, at the junction of Langford Street.
“The road is closed due to a road traffic collision.
“Please find alternative routes and avoid the area if possible.”
