A new roller rink is coming to Rawtenstall this August bank holiday.
Sean Kierans and Nicola McLoughlin are the owners of Scentish in Bank Street and are running different events throughout the year as part of their Community Project.
The owners are planning a whole host of events, with some funding from Rossendale Borough Council, to give back to the community and thank their customers who consistently support them.
After the success of their ice rink and giant snow globe in December, the Scentish owners are inviting members of the public to the Rawtenstall Summer Roller Rink this August bank holiday.
Sean said: “The council has approved us to do more, so we’re making it more of an all-round event that people can come down to, even if they don’t skate.
“It’s going to be a great summer event that anyone, families, couples, groups of friends, can come down and enjoy.
“There’s going to be music, and plenty of hot and cold food including a Lebanese barbecue, street food, desserts, cocktails and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Since the cost-of-living crisis has burned a hole in people’s pockets, there has been a decline in sales and a drop in the number of shoppers on the high street so Sean also hopes this will also increase footfall in Rawtenstall.
The roller rink will be open from 10am to 7pm on Saturday, August 26 to Monday, August 28.
The fee is £4 per skater which gives you an hour on the roller rink which will be located in Rawtenstall Town Square.
