Lancashire Women are holding an afternoon tea party in their Accrington Community Hub to celebrate Afternoon Tea Week.

Afternoon Tea Week is being held from the August 7 – 13, and to commemorate this week, Lancashire Women will be hosting their own event located at their Accrington hub at 21-23 Blackburn Road.

This initiative aims to raise awareness and funds to support the various programmes and services provided by the charity.

Abigail Olde, fundraising officer for Lancashire Women, said: “We welcome any women to come along for a relaxed social atmosphere where we will be providing brews, lots of baked treats, and the opportunity to win some prizes from our tombola.

"If you like cake and want a chance to get together with friendly and welcoming individuals, come along – it’s completely free.

"You’ll have the opportunity to browse our women’s charity shop’s £1 sale while you’re there and get to know more about how our charity can support you.”

Lancashire Women is a leading charity with more than 5,000 members accessing their services over the past year.

Lancashire Women empower women to be able to transform their lives by bringing them together to - find their voice, share experiences and understanding, develop their knowledge and skills and challenge stereotypes and misconceptions so that they can have choices in becoming the individuals they want to be.

This event promises to be a safe women-only space to enjoy cakes, treats and even a chance to win exciting prizes.

The aim of the event is to support the work that Lancashire Women do for the community, whilst being able to connect with other women in the community and build friendships.

If you are not available to make the event in-person, Lancashire women encourage hosting your very own Afternoon Tea Party.

Whether it’s a cuppa in the garden with friends or in the workplace with your colleagues, get together, have fun, and help raise money to support Lancashire Women.

Lancashire Women have provided everything you need to get ready to host your own tea party, from posters and invite templates to activities and recipes,

The event will be held on Wednesday August 9 from 1pm to 3pm
