A Lancashire restaurant is celebrating its first anniversary with a special competition.

Freya’s Grill in Darwen opened on Duckworth Street near the town centre last year and has proven a popular hit ever since.

Now, staff and managers hope to mark their first year in the business by giving three customers the chance to win £40.

Manager Naz Islam said: “We can’t believe it’s been a year already and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing customers.

“That’s why we decided to run this competition to give people the chance to win a great prize and celebrate our anniversary in style with us.

“So we hope as many people as possible enter and we’re looking forward to welcoming the lucky winners in as soon as possible!”

Freya’s Grill, a bar and restaurant that serves a range of meals ranging from steak, burgers, and peri-peri chicken, opened for business last year opposite Darwen Lidl and has since proven a popular destination for people looking for evenings out in East Lancashire.

The anniversary offer gives customers £10 off their, while one child per table will eat free when ordering off the children’s menu.

This is valid from Sundays to Thursdays and will run until October 1.

The competition can be found on Freya’s Grill’s Facebook page and can be entered by following the instructions posted there.

Mr Islam says he hopes that his offer will help support families as they go into the summer holidays.

He said: “We know that sometimes the summer holidays can be hard for families so we wanted to give people something nice to do with their children over the break.

“We’ve done similar things at Christmas and we’ve put on special events for things like Valentine’s Day so this is really about us trying to carry that kind of thing on.”

The restaurant is in Darwen town centre, which Mr Islam says makes it easily accessible for people from the town itself as well as for visitors from further afield.

Freya’s Grill is open every day of the week except Tuesdays, from 5pm to 10pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 5pm to 11pm on Fridays, 4pm to 11pm on Saturdays and 4pm to 10pm on Sundays.
