Update: The lane has now reopened
One lane is closed and traffic is queueing after a "multi-vehicle crash" on the M6 in Lancashire.
Lane one is closed on the northbound carriageway between J34 (Lancaster) and J35 (Carnforth) due to the crash.
Emergency services and traffic officers are on the scene.
There are currently delays of around 25 minutes above normal travel time with three miles of congestion on approach.
A spokesperson for the AA traffic website said: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to multi-vehicle crash on M6 Northbound from A683 Bay Gateway (Lancaster) to J35 A601(M) (Carnforth).
"Congestion to the southbound side as traffic passes."
National Highways says congestion is expected to clear between 12.45pm to 1pm northbound, and between 11.45am to noon southbound.
At 1.30pm, National Highways said the disruption is expected to clear on the northbound sinde between 3.15-3.30pm.
At 2.30pm, National Highways confirmed the lane was open again after recovery works had taken place. At the time, there were delays of 30-35 minutes and seven miles of queues.
