Train services between Lancaster and Preston are being disrupted due to heavy rain flooding the railway and faults with the signalling system.
Services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to an hour. Disruption is currently expected until around 4pm.
Services between Windermere/Barrow-in-Furness and Manchester Airport, which call at both Lancaster and Preston, are affected, as well as Avanti West Coast trains between London Euston and Glasgow Central/Edinburgh and TransPennie Express services between Manchester Airport and Glasgow Central/Edinburgh.
Northern passengers travelling from Preston towards Manchester can board alternative Northern services and all ticket restrictions have been lifted during the disruption.
Avanti West Coast has ticket acceptance in place with London North Eastern Railway on their services between Leeds and London Kings Cross, Northern on unaffected routes, and CrossCountry between Edinburgh and Birmingham New Street.
