A young boy had to be airlifted to hospital after falling on some railings last night.
The incident happened at Rishton Methodist Primary School in George Street around 6.45pm on Monday (July 17).
Emergency services, including the police, fire and ambulance service attended the scene, with the North West Air Ambulance required to land close to the school.
Fire crews provided access for the helicopter, and the boy, who is believed to be around 12-years-old, was taken to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital with suspected abdominal injuries.
It is believed the boy and others had been jumping over the gates at the school.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident at 6.43pm, the patient, a boy, was airlifted to hospital for further treatment."
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 7.01pm, fire appliances from Hyndburn, Chorley and Bamber Bridge attended an incident on George Street in Rishton."
