Are you looking to spend some more time outside this summer with your family?
Lancashire is spoilt for choice, with numerous activities that are either entirely outside or mostly outside based for you to go along and experience.
When the sun is shining and the warm weather is here we have to make the most of it, and there's no better way of doing that than by getting out and about as a family.
Here are five of our favourite outdoor activities to do in Lancashire this summer
Blackpool Zoo
This multi-award winning zoo has over 1000 animals and has just welcomed a Amur tiger to its list of residents.
You can enjoy a stroll around the zoo and take in the animals from a distance, or you can get up close and personal with them during an animal interaction.
You can even book your child on a keeper course. These courses are available for children aged eight to 17.
Preston Guild Wheel
This walking and cycling route is a 21 mile circular route that goes around the city of Preston.
This scenic route will give you a chance to enjoy all of the nature on offer around the city.
Lancashire Canal Cruises
These cruises leave from The Slipway Bar and Restaurant in Burscough and are the perfect opportunity to enjoy the scenic routes in Lancashire from a different perspective.
You can join a public group trip or hire the boat for your own private charter.
You can book tickets here.
Dam Top Riding Centre
This riding centre is situated in the picturesque Rossendale Valley, so you can enjoy the views while you’re out learning how to ride a horse.
Lessons are open to all ages and it does not matter whether you have not rode a horse before or you are an expert in riding, you can still take part.
Wild Discovery
This zoo in Ribby Hall Village, Preston, can offer you the opportunity of really getting close to their residents with a range of experiences and interactions on offer.
You can take part in a bird flying encounter where you have the chance to meet birds of prey, or stroke a Capybara during an animal encounter.
Adult tickets are £8.95 and a child ticket is £7.50.
