A Post Office in Burnley has officially reopened, restoring postal service to the area.
The Post Office reopened at Heasandford Grocers on Williams Road on Wednesday (July 5).
It replaces the previous Colne Road Post Office which closed in August 2022.
It has been renamed Williams Road Post Office and there is a Post Office counter inside the convenience store.
The Post Office will be open six days a week, providing 65 hours of Post Office service a week for customers.
Samuel Williams, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored a Post Office to this area as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.
“The branch’s opening hours will make it convenient for customers to visit.”
Some residents were disappointed about the closure of the original site, when it was announced last year.
At the time Burnley MP Antony Higginbotham said: “For those who have contacted me about the temporary closure of Colne Road's Post Office - a new branch is set to open on Wednesday, July 5, at 1pm.
“It will be located at Heasandford Grocers, 64 Williams Road, Burnley - just a short distance from Colne Road.”
Post Office opening hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9am – 8pm.
- Saturdays: 10am – 8pm.
