Pupils from more than 50 schools took part in this year's Northwest Eco School Sustainability Conference at Ewood Park, the home of Blackburn Rovers.

The event returned to the venue for the sixth year running and encourages pupils to learn new skills and develop knowledge of how to live in an eco-friendlier environment.

The conference was organised by the Lancashire Schools Sustainability Programme and hosted by the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.

Wendy Litherland, Director of Sustainability from St Christopher’s CE High School & Sixth Form, said: “The Lancashire Schools Sustainability Forum, in close association with the Sustainability Learning CIC delivered another successful schools' conference, focusing on promoting the 'pupil voice'.

“The Forum is a platform for sharing skills, knowledge, and experience in promoting education for sustainable development in schools and other learning communities in Lancashire and beyond.

"It encourages environmental education and learning outside the classroom, with an emphasis on real world links to jobs and future career prospects."
