A teen musician, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent last year, is to attend a Darwen festival this weekend.
Alfie Bridgens, from Barrow in Cumbria, appeared on the ITV talent show last year, where he played his own song ‘Sit Back and Have a Nice Beer’, which he played on the Ukelele.
The young performer, who appeared on the show aged 15, impressed the crowd and received great feedback from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Williams. He was sent through to the next stage of the competition.
Alfie is set to appear at the at Darwen Festival of Fun, which returns to Darwen Market Square this Saturday (July 1).
Now in its third year, the free festival, funded by Darwen Town Council and curated by Let’s Make and Crafty Vintage, will be a day filled with family fun, laughter and lots of merriment.
Alfie will be teaching people how to play the ukelele.
Immersive roving theatre, a drumming band, stilt walkers, huge giant bubbles and more will also be available.
The talented youngsters from Zoe Taylor Dance Academy and Lancashire Dance Academy will be showing off their expertise too.
The entertainment will take centre stage on Darwen Market Square and bring together local families and visitors from afar to enjoy.
The Artisan Market will be filled to the brim with makers and creators, plus streetfood and a vintage bar.
Laura E Johnson, founder of Crafty Vintage and Let’s Make, said: “It is fantastic that this event can continue into its third year with the support of Darwen Town Council.
“The line-up is spectacular and it is free, to enable everyone to come along and enjoy Darwen and what it has to offer.”
