A drink driver was warned that he had come close to going to prison when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates.
The court heard Scott Matthew Hill was disqualified from driving when he was stopped by police in the early hours. He was found to be more than double the legal alcohol limit.
Hill, 32, of York Street, Church, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance and while over the drink drive limit.
He was made subject to a community order for 18 months with 20 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 100 hours unpaid work. He was banned for 40 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 victim surcharge.
Passing sentence District Judge Alexandra Preston said Hill had only been disqualified in September and could have been in no doubt that he wasn't allowed to drive.
"I am concerned about your attitude towards drinking and driving and your flouting of court orders," said District Judge Preston.
"I thought about imposing a period of imprisonment today."
