A man from St Annes has died after being attacked earlier this month in Lytham.
A 20-year-old was arrested in connection to the incident but has since been released on bail.
Matthew Guthrie died in hospital on Monday (June 19) after an attack left him with serious head injuries.
Police were called at 1.28am on Sunday, June 18, to Henry Street after reports of an assault.
Officers arrested a man initially on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm and re-arrested him on suspicion of manslaughter.
He has now been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Det Chief Insp Jane Webb of Lancashire Police, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Matthew’s family at this sad and distressing time for them.
“This is a tragic case, and the investigation is ongoing. We continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident and ask for anyone with information to come forward.”
