A man in his 20s has been arrested following an assault that took place in Lytham.

Police were called at around 1.30am yesterday (June 18) to Henry Street, to a report that a 25-year-old had been assaulted.

Police yesterday arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm and he is currently in custody.

The victim was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone who has information about the incident to come forward.
