Update: The disruption has now cleared
A tree blocking the line is causing delays on the railways this morning.
Services are being disrupted between Blackburn and Bolton due to the tree being on the line near Darwen.
Disruption is expected until around 8am, and road transport has been requested to run between the two stations.
As a result of the issue, trains running from Clitheroe towards Rochdale are being terminated at Blackburn and then continued by another train at Manchester Victoria.
Trains are currently not calling at Darwen, Entwistle, Bromley Cross, Hall-i-th-Wood, Bolton, Farnworth, Salford Crescent and Salford Central.
A Northern spokesperson said: “Due to a tree blocking the railway between Blackburn and Bolton all lines are disrupted.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed.
“Network Rail engineers are en-route with further details to follow.”
