DOZENS of volunteers packed Blackburn's premier entertainment venue to celebrate the work of those who give their time for free to help others.
Blackburn with Council's political leader used the opportunity to thank them for their efforts.
More than 130 volunteers joined together to celebrate at King George’s Hall.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has more than 2,000 volunteers that support the delivery of services every day, with volunteers who support a wide range of services, from litter picking to helping out at community centres.
Leader of the council Cllr Phil Riley said: The many volunteering groups play a vital part in making the borough a place where everybody matters and no one is left behind."
Public Health and Wellbeing boss Cllr Damian Talbot, said: "We have so many fantastic and hard-working volunteers across our borough, and this event was a really important opportunity to say thanks for all that work, and to recognise what a huge difference volunteers make.
"The commitment of residents in Blackburn with Darwen is outstanding."
