A company is celebrating 10 years of successful apprenticeship schemes through Burnley College as two apprentices continue to advance their careers and another has secured a permanent full-time role.

Your Office Anywhere, based in Billington Road, Burnley, provides hosted desktop solutions to boost collaboration, productivity and cost-effectiveness of companies of all sizes.

Customers can quickly access company data and applications from anywhere, anytime, and on any device, allowing for real-time collaboration.

Emma Burton and Josh Wilkinson, both from Burnley, joined Your Office Anywhere 11 years ago as apprentices after studying an NVQ in IT at Burnley College, and today they continue to progress their careers with the company.

Claudia Delafield joined Your Office Anywhere 18 months ago and is now starting an AAT Level 3 Diploma in accounting, while Brad Wilcock has secured a full-time position on the help desk team after joining the company in October 2022.

Emma said: “I was apprehensive about joining the Your Office Anywhere Help Desk because of my social anxiety. I didn’t like talking to people, so the thought of talking to people on the phone terrified me initially.

“The team at Your Office Anywhere were so welcoming and helpful, and I soon grew in confidence and today, 11 years later, I work alongside a Director, and I’m taking on more responsibility. I’ve come a long way in a male-dominated profession.”

Josh added: “I’d encourage anyone considering an apprenticeship to try. Most people don’t know what they want to do when they’ve finished school, college or university, and apprenticeships offer a great opportunity for people to find their feet in the world of work, get some experience and grow in confidence.”

Company director John Wilcock said the company has been fortunate to have found apprentices with great attitudes and recommended any business leaders to consider working with apprentices.

He said: “Our people make Your Office Anywhere the success it is today. We enjoy great success with our apprentices and do all we can to make them comfortable and teach them all we can. If they do well, the business does well.”

Your Office Anywhere has more than 2,500 people using its services and it is open to receiving more apprentices and CVs from interested candidates.

Of the company’s 13 employees, 11 are based in Burnley.
