An Eastern European man has been arrested after officers discovered 150 cannabis plants in a home.
On Wednesday, June 14, the Neighbourhood Policing Team and Rural Task Force were made aware of concerns regarding cannabis cultivation in Waterfoot.
Officers arrived at the residential property yesterday morning and found around 150 plants of varying sizes.
Police say the house was used solely for growing cannabis and the electricity meters had been bypassed.
An Eastern European man was arrested for cannabis cultivation and immigration offences.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Following community concerns raised to us this week with regards a cannabis cultivation in Waterfoot, your Neighbourhood team and Rural Task Force have this morning entered the residential property.
“The house was coverted solely for the purpose of growing cannabis and the electricity meters had been bypassed.
“Officers discovered about 150 plants of varying sizes and an Eastern European man has been arrested for cannabis cultivation and immigration offences.
“He remains in custody awaiting interview.”
