The line-up for a festival in Blackburn has been revealed – and it is shaping up to be a fantastic event.
The two day Confessional Festival is set to take place on September 8 and 9 at The Exchange on King William Street.
The line-up includes a variety of genres and acts, including alternative group Calva Louise and four piece band Cucamaras.
Young Blackburn musician Jacob Reddy, who has been confirmed in the line-up for Glastonbury Festival, will also be performing.
A spokesperson said: “We are excited to finally reveal our full two day line-up of amazing artists who will be performing at this year’s event.
“We have so many wonderful things planned, it is going to be a belter.”
The Confessional Festival was cancelled in 2022 due to funding issues and the current economic climate. Thanks to an arts funding grant from Arts Council England it has been allowed to return for 2023.
The festival was awarded the funding this year for its support to grassroots music.
Peter Eastwood, who has masterminded six Confessional events, said:“We are excited to finally reveal our full two day line-up of amazing artists who will be performing at this year’s event.
“We have so many wonderful things planned, it is going to be a belter.
“This festival means the world to me and I spend most of my year working on it. I was so gutted when it was cancelled.
“There isn’t a lot of nightlife in Blackburn and the festival means a lot to many people and so many people look forward to it.
“It’s a great thing for Blackburn’s night-time economy.
“We try and improve every year and try and book some of the hottest and emerging live music acts in the UK.
