Fire crews were called last night (June 12) when the roof of a house set alight after being struck by lightning.
Four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, St Annes, and Wesham were called to the house on Whitewood Close, Lytham St Annes at around 8.45pm.
The roof was struck by lighting during the thunderstorms experienced across large parts of the North West in recent days
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, St Annes, and Wesham, and an aerial ladder platform, were called to a house on Whitewood Close, Lytham St Annes, which had been struck by lighting and set the roof on fire.
“Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.”
