A Blackburn shopkeeper who has been turning heads with his ‘tower of mangoes’ says he has received nothing but great comments from passers-by.
Alam Food Store’s ‘mango tower’ on Preston New Road was back on display this week.
The first 3,000 mangoes sold out within the first few days and a new shipment has arrived at the premises on Sunday.
The shopkeeper revealed it took him up to an hour to balance the boxes when the first shipment arrived.
The ‘sweet honey mangoes’ have been popular with customers and the grocers sold out of its first batch within days.
Shopkeeper Imtiaz said: “We got a lot of people popping in after seeing the mangoes and this year is proving to be no different.
“Some people just pop in to talk about the mangoes but don’t even buy them.
“People are really positive. Who doesn’t like mangoes?
“I think we have this love of mangoes and everyone wants to know which box is the best value and where we got them from.
“To be fair the price of mangoes has not gone up as much as everything else.”
