IT is getting to the time of the week when we celebrate some of the finest places in East Lancashire to go and socialise with family and friends.
We love to shine the spotlight on venues in our Pub of the Week feature.
This time, we have headed to Pendle to find out more about Bees Knees Colne.

Leighton Cragg

Give us some history about the pub
The pub started it’s life as a Nat West Bank and was changed into a bar before we purchased the lease and turned it into a Bees Knees.
We have kept some of the features of the old bank with the big safe doors which is a cool feature.
Our pool table and shuffleboard are housed in the old bank’s safe area of the bar.
Is there a beer garden
No hoping to get an outside licence soon.
Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams
We have men’s pool teams and men’s and ladies dart teams..
Is food served?
Not at the moment
Most popular drink served is:
Draught would be Fosters / John Smiths but cocktails sell very well
Most memorable moment at the pub
Best moment in the pub was Meatloaf tribute on May 28. Everyone loved it. It was an amazing day.
Do you have an entertainment line-up?
On July 9 we have Band called Crash and August 6 there is an Elvis Tribute
Have you faced any challenges within the industry
Biggest challenge starting from scratch and building a local trade from scratch been particularly difficult but we’re succeeding
The best thing about running a pub is
Creating a safe space for customers to come and enjoy a cocktail or two while socialising and enjoying our facilities. Whether that’s live sports on our massive video wall or playing darts / shuffleboard or playing on our fantastic pool table.
The worst thing about running a pub is..
The amount of hours it’s takes to keep it running successfully.
The perfect hangover cure is...
Jagerbomb
