An application has been submitted to the council to turn an house of bedsits into a children’s residential care home in Whitworth.
Zen Care and Education Ltd, which is based in Old Trafford, has lodged the plans with Rossendale Council.
It is seeking permission to change Aspen Ridge and Studd Brow Bungalow in Whitworth, Rossendale, into a home for children, with one child’s bedroom.
There will be two staff bedrooms under the plans, as well as a lounge, kitchen and shower room.
Currently, the home is a house of multiple occupation with three bedsits, a lounge and a conservatory.
It is thought that if approved, the change of use will create four jobs.
No other documents, apart from scaled drawings, have been submitted, and the council will make a decision in due course.
Anyone wishing to comment on the plans can visit the planning section of the Rossendale Council website.
