A man has been arrested after a police officer was assaulted at a railway station.
On Sunday evening (May 28), British Transport Police officers at Blackpool North station approached a man who had been causing some issues in the area.
The man then assaulted one of the officers and fought with them, according to police.
Captor incapacitant spray was used and more officers were called in, before a man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and assaulting an emergency worker.
A spokesperson for the BTP said: "Tonight (Sunday) at Blackpool North, a male gave officers cause to speak to him. He then assaulted an officer and fought with them.
"Captor was deployed.
"Huge thanks to Northern's transport officers and Blackpool staff along with a very quick response from LancsARV and Blackpool Police.
"The male was arrested for drunk and disorderly and assault emergency worker.
"All officers uninjured.
"For anyone wondering Captor is an incapacitant spray which can be used for officers to help gain control of a subject.
"It minimises the persons capacity for resistance it primarily causes pain to the eyes for officers to gain control."
