Police have closed a road following a crash.

Emergency services were sent to Spendmore Lane in Coppull this morning, Monday, following reports of a crash.

The road, from the junction with South Road to the Co-op on Spendmore Lane is currently closed.

It is not clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash, whether anyone has been injured, anyone taken to hospital or anyone arrested.

Lancashire police have been contacted for further comment.

At around 5am, a force spokesperson said: "Good morning, we are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Spendmore Lane Coppull.

"The road is currently closed from the junction with South Road to the Co-op on Spendmore Lane.

"We will update once the road reopens, thank you for your patience."
