A MAN who crashed his car on the way home from a social gathering failed a roadside breath test.
Blackburn magistrates heard Krasimir Petrov Mihaylov then failed to provide an evidential sample.
Mihaylov, 32, of Bar Street, Burnley, admitted to failing to provide a sample for analysis. He was given a 12-month community order with 10 hours unpaid work and 10 days of rehab activities. He was banned for 22 months with £85 costs.
Jane Rapin, prosecuting, said the defendant provided a roadside reading of 83mcg per 100ml of breath against the legal limit of 35. Despite numerous attempts he failed to register a police station sample.
Waqas Latif, defending, said his client had not had a drink since the incident in January.
“He came to this country with his family in 2017 and has always had a very strong work ethic,” added Mr Latif.
