Update: Lines have now reopened though disruption is still expected until 6.30pm
Northern train services have been severely disrupted due to emergency services dealing with an incident.
Lines are currently blocked between Bamber Bridge and Preston in both directions, meaning trains will either be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.
This includes the Blackpool North to York service which runs through Blackburn, Accrington, and Burnley Manchester Road, and the Preston to Colne service which runs along the same line.
Customers travelling from Blackburn towards Preston are advised to board services to Bolton and change for connections to Preston.
Those travelling from Preston towards York should board services to Salford Crescent for connections to Leeds.
Replacement bus services are in place.
A spokesperson for Northern said: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Bamber Bridge and Preston all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.”
