Here are five of the top-scoring eateries on TripAdvisor you can try out this weekend.

The first place up on our list is Elaf, a Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurant in Whalley Range.

With 21 of its 23 reviews on TripAdvisor being five stars, this place is certain to leave you well satisfied with your meal.

One review said: “Absolutely brilliant food which was only bettered by the service, would definitely recommend for a visit.”

Another said: “First time visiting this restaurant. Lovely fresh food topped with fantastic customer service.

"This one has been added to our regular favourites list now.”

Elaf ranks inside the top 30 restaurants in the town and also offers a takeaway option.

Old Mill Hill Chippy

This chip shop also featured in our best-rated chippies in Blackburn and returns for another appearance in the top places overall.

Only five reviews out of 46 give Old Mill Hill Chippy a rating below excellent and it ranks 21st out of all 140 eateries in the town.

One review said: “Quite simply the best fish and chips in Blackburn.

"The fish quality is always fresh, flaky and thick, and cooked to order on entry.

"Absolutely first class and on par with many chippies on the coast.”

Food, service and value all scored five stars om TripAdvisor’s rankings, making this one of the top places to eat in the town.

The Dog Inn – Belthorn

The Dog Inn is described as the first community-owned free house in East Lancashire, which has a traditional bar area, stone flooring, and a roaring log fire.

The pub offers well-kept ales from various local breweries with a range of draught and bottled lagers and ciders, as well as an extensive food menu.

One review said: “By far the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time, this place never disappoints. Quality local ingredients that make all the difference.”

Another said: “Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Five-course Valentine's meal, gorgeous food, wonderful staff. Couldn’t have asked for more.”

MyLahore

With more than 400 five-star reviews, it’s no wonder MyLahore is rated as the second-best restaurant in the town, as well as being first for Asian food.

Located on Whitebirk Road, MyLahore offers a wide-range of British-Asian fusion dishes that leaves almost all of its customers happy.

One review said: “Service was fab from the moment we arrived. We were greeted and seated while waiting only a few minutes for our table.

"The food was delicious, service was quick, and definitely will be coming again!”

Another said: “Delicious food, excellent service, very friendly staff.

"Very welcoming, kids had an amazing time, would definitely recommend to others.”

Scholars Training Restaurant

Ranked as the number one restaurant in the whole of Blackburn according to TripAdvisor reviews, Scholars boasts 632 five-star reviews.

The training restaurant in run by a blend of industry professionals and students at Blackburn College who are looking to develop their culinary skills.

One review said: “We took our relatives from Australia and they said the food was better than the cruise they had been on.

"It was excellent, the teenagers learning their trade were excellent, highly recommend for the price, you cannot beat it.”

As well as featuring on TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice list for 2022, Scholars scores full marks in food, service, and value, proving why it’s the best you can get in Blackburn.
