A football club will be holding an evening with a Holocaust survivor in July.
Accrington Stanley’s 1968 Lounge, in partnership with The Fed, a social care charity for the Jewish community, will host the evening with survivor Ike Alterman on Thursday, July 13.
Ike, 95, survived four Nazi death camps during the Second World War, including Auschwitz-Birkenau and a death march, and saw his entire family murdered by the Nazis.
After the war, at the age of 16, Ike came to the UK and settled in Manchester, where he raised a family and built a successful business.
Through The Fed, Ike now spends his time telling his story in person and answering questions to ensure the Holocaust is never forgotten and the crucial lessons from it are learned and shared widely.
The event will start at 7.30pm and is open to the community, but tickets will be required to attend – 250 free tickets are available to book now.
Tickets can be redeemed online or from the Accrington Stanley retail shop, which is open from 10am until 4pm Monday to Friday.
