A man in his 50s has died after he fell off a scooter in Edenfield.
Police were called at around 6.55pm yesterday evening, Saturday, to reports of a collision on Blackburn Road between Edenfield and Haslingden.
The man, from Haslingden, was riding his scooter northbound when he left the carriageway and fell from the vehicle.
He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for five hours while emergency services and accident investigators attended.
It was then handed over to the council to complete remedial work before reopening.
Sgt Pete Fyans, from Lancashire Police's roads policing unit, said: "My thoughts are very much with the man's family at this sad and difficult time.
"We are investigating the circumstances around the collision and would encourage anyone with information to come forward.
"If you can help or have any dashcam footage, please get in touch."
