A Blackburn musician is set to take the stage at the UK’s biggest festival this summer.
18-year-old Jacob Reddy said he has been “speechless” since being announced as part of the Glastonbury 2023 line-up.
Jacob will be playing on the Croissant Neuf stage, which hosts the music industry’s best and upcoming artists.
It is understood he will be performing several sets across the weekend with more details to be announced closer to the time.
Jacob said: “A few months ago I was asked if I would like to play at Glastonbury but didn’t hear anything.
“I assumed nothing would be happening and then all of a sudden I get some emails explaining that I got a slot at the festival.
“When I got the email I probably screamed louder than I ever have before or would care to admit.
“I’ve been speechless since the news came in.”
Jacob said just attending the festival a guest has been a dream and he still can’t believe he will be performing.
He said: “It has always been a dream of mine. Even going to Glastonbury as a guest is a bucket list dream.
“The fact that I am going to play there, and also enjoy the rest of the festival, is just the craziest thing I could ever wish for.
“I have no idea how this is happening to me but I am very much looking forward to it.”
Jacob said he can’t wait to represent Blackburn at the festival, which will see around 210,000 music lovers descend on Worthy Farm.
He said: “My friends and fans think the news is really cool. I have felt one per cent famous this week, it has been crazy.
“It’s super special to be this boy from a town in Lancashire playing at this huge festival.”
Jacob has written several original songs over the years, including an exclusive song for Blackburn Rovers called ‘Ewood Lights’.
His most recent song, Wear the Crown, could feature on his Glastonbury set list.
He said: “It’s about the very average days we have sometimes that seem to be in a loop.
"It’s about trying to take advantage of better days and grab every moment you get.
“I imagine that it will feature on the Glastonbury set list. It’s quite an upbeat song and the plan is to play as many upbeat songs as possible while I am there."
Glastonbury is set to take place between June 21 to 25. This year's festival will be headlined by Sir Elton John, Arctic Monkeys and Guns ‘N’ Roses.
