Despite the miserable weather, the rain didn’t dampen spirits as thousands of music lovers put on their dancing shoes ready for this year's Restricted Rocks festival.

Restricted Rocks returned to Witton Park in Blackburn on Sunday (April 30) and has been hailed as the best year yet.

Rock music lovers were treated to performances by tributes of legendary artists and bands including Fleetwood Mac tribute, UK Fleetwood Mac; Queen tribute, QE2 Queen; an homage to Meatloaf – Meatloud; the Guns N Roses Experience; The Oasis Experience; and Desert Monkeys – a tribute to the Arctic Monkeys.

The Blackburn festival offered other forms of entertainment in the form of fairground rides, beer tents, a food court, crowd entertainers, and stalls which helped brighten the rainy day.

Organiser of one of Lancashire’s most anticipated rock tribute festivals, Zander Lawrenson, said: “Well what can I say, we did it. Despite the weather, everybody still turned up to support us.

“Thousands came from Blackburn and the surrounding areas to what could have easily been a wash out but everyone did an amazing job to keep things rolling.

“This had to be our hardest Rock festival to date but certainly the best one too.

“The music and production were on point, security was amazing and everyone was having so much fun, dancing and singing away to our amazing Tribute Bands. I don’t have a favourite as each one was as good as each other.

“I want to thank each and everyone who came. Without you, there would be no Restricted Rocks so thank you for all your support.

“I also want to thank everyone involved who made this happen, everybody worked so hard and there was not one complaint.

“Until next year – Blackburn, you Rock.”
