There are severe delays caused by a car crash on the M61 northbound carriageway.
Traffic was held twice to move the car off the central barrier just before M6 junction 30 (Blacow Bridge).
There are severe delays of around ten minutes increasing on the M61 northbound between junction 8 (Chorley) and M6 junction 30 with an average speed of 15mph.
All lanes have now reopened.
It is not known whether anyone has been injured but police have been approached for a comment.
Traffic delays website, INRIX, states: “Long delays due to crash, now on the shoulder on M61 Northbound before M6 J30.
“Traffic was previously held twice to move involved car off the central barrier. All lanes have been re-opened.”
