Two men who boasted on Snapchat about selling heroin and cocaine while revelling in their involvement in the production and sale of cannabis have been jailed for almost 10 years.
Danyal Chapman, 24, was found guilty after a trial in February of possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis, and also possession of cannabis and abstracting electricity for the production of cannabis.
Mohammed Khan, 28, was found guilty after trial of possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin after being acquitted of the cannabis charges.
Preston Crown Court heard the offences dated back to August 2019, when police raided a house in St Cecilia Street, Great Harwood.
Inside they found two teenagers aged 15 and 17 and discovered a room downstairs had been converted into a cannabis grow, with two upstairs bedrooms also converted for cannabis production.
Kimberley Obrusik, prosecuting, said the defendants, who at the time were 20 and 24, were located in the attic and Khan was caught trying to remove 10 wraps of class A drugs from his pocket.
Further class A drugs in small wraps were also discovered in attic.
Altogether police seized 75 wraps of cocaine at 5.9g, worth around £750, and 62 wraps of heroin at 8.21g, worth around £620.
Bagged cannabis was recovered, weighing 213g, along with three sets of scales and two mobile phones.
In total, 41 plants were retrieved with the overall value of drugs found in the property to be worth £12,710.
Recorder Kevin Slack said: “A large tub of bicarbonate of soda was found in the kitchen used as a bulking agent for the cocaine.
“Snapchat videos show Danyal Chapman involved in bagging up the drugs.
“Videos were taken from one of the phones showing the two of you in a car revelling in your roles as drug dealers, showing off to anyone who saw that footage.
“You Danyal Chapman filmed yourself in front of the cannabis grow, again, revelling in your participation in crime.
“Texts show you both were involved in the bagging up of the drugs into street level deals.
“What you were involved with was not an offence only committed on that one day, but part of an ongoing dealing in drugs. Your roles are both significant in this case.”
Khan, of Windermere Avenue, Blackburn, has 21 convictions for 31 offences. He was jailed for four years.
Chapman, of Acre View, Bacup, has one previous conviction. He was jailed for four years and six months.
