A CONVICTED sex offender failed to keep police aware of his social media accounts.
Blackburn magistrates heard when officers seized a mobile phone and a Playstation belonging to Joshua Newton they discovered Snapchat, andTik Tok accounts and an unregistered e-mail account.
Newton, 25, of Albert Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to three charges of breaching a sexual harm prevention order and failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements. He was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced on June 5.
Antonia Walters, prosecuting, said the matter was aggravated by the fact it was the second breach of the order.
Richard Prew, defending, said he had to concede his client had a very poor record for offences of a similar nature.
He said his client had been released last year from a 30 month prison sentence for which he was still on post-sentence supervision.
"He has been recalled to prison by the Probation Service," said Mr Prew.
