Police are set to launch an investigation after they stopped a group of three males they believed to be illegally lamping.

Lancashire Rural Police, aided by response officers, stopped the group in the Lune Valley in the early hours on Sunday morning (March 23).

Their car and equipment were seized and officers say they will seek charges where possible.

Lamping is the activity of hunting at night using lamps, especially for rabbits.

A spokesperson for Lancs Rural Police said: "In the early hours of this morning West rural task force, aided by response officers, stopped three males who we believe were illegally lamping in the Lune Valley.

"Their car and equipment were seized and the issue will be fully investigated, and where possible charges sought."
