The bank holiday weekend is upon us and with the sun shining, many people will be heading to their favourite beer garden to enjoy a pint.
We have a great selection of beer gardens but here are some of our favourites where you can take in beautiful views of the East Lancashire countryside while enjoying a refreshing drink.
Aspinall Arms in Mitton
The Aspinall Arms is a coaching inn believed to date from the 17th century, and was originally known as the Mitton Boat.
With terraced and landscaped gardens outside, and flagged floors and open fires inside, it's just the pub for walkers, cyclists and anglers.
Grey Mare in Belthorn
Arguably, one of the most popular food pubs in East Lancashire, the Grey Mare is a popular destination for couples, families and parties.
The Grey Mare is one of the highest pubs in England, and on a clear day, you can see as far as the Ribble Estuary, the coast and Blackpool Tower.
The Dog Inn in Belthorn
Just up the road from the Grey Mare is the Dog Inn.
The pub serves a great selection of food and drinks, with a number of real ales. The pub has countryside views similar to that of the Grey Mare.
Parker Arms in Newton in Bowland near Clitheroe
The Parker’s offers modern classic food using the finest regional produce in their very own special way, an eclectic selected wine list, real ales and two[=- ensuite rooms with great views over the Ribble Valley.
Inn at Whitewell near Clitheroe
This Inn has some royal connection as it forms part of the Duchy of Lancaster Estate.
It sits high on the banks of the River Hodder, where it is hoped it will remain, with spectacular views down the valley into the heart of the Forest of Bowland.
Game Cock Inn, Great Harwood
The pub is near the River Calder and serves a carvery every day of the week. They also have another main menu available with pub classics.
The pub has some breath-taking views of the countryside from the beer garden at the back.
